Vastu for the stairs: direction and rules

According to Vastu Shastra, the best direction for the stairs is South, West or South-west.

Best direction	South, West or South-west
Do	Keep the stairs well lit.
Avoid	Don't build stairs in the north-east or in the exact centre of the house; don't put a puja space, kitchen or toilet under the stairs.

In a house that is already built, demolition is not needed; cleanliness, light and moving things around fix most issues.
